Diesel Fuel Quality

The design of diesel engines seek increaseperformance made significant progress in enginefuel delivery to the combustion chamber. In today dieselengines much quieter, smoother, more powerful andalso. Diesel fuel, on the other hand, is not good for the same rate of improvement asthe engines. Once it is produced, diesel todeteriorate starts. In less than 30 days, refinement, all diesel, regardless of brand, runs through anatural process of oxidation. This process formsvarnishes resins and fuel as a result of fuel molecules to increase or begin bondingtogether.

Now, these components will drop to the bottom of the tank and diesel thefuel form of sludge. Fuel willbegin in turn, a very dark color, smell bad, andcause engine smoke. The engine starts smoking, as some of these groups are fairly small topass through the filter and the engine combustion chamber. As the clusters begin to increase in size, only asmall size molecules will be burned, and the rest will go exhaust as unburned fueland smoke. It is estimated that eight out of every ten dieselengine failures are directly related to poor qualityand contaminated fuel. In the build-up contaminationin fuel systems and storage tanks can block the filters, resulting in the engine turned off and no damage to the engine.

The number one cause of poor fuel attributable to theincreasing popularity of diesel power plants and the attendant demand for diesel fuel more fuel.Long ago, diesel fuel at the refinery tanks left long enough to naturally separate andbegin to settle, allowing clean fuel to be drawn to the part. Now, with the requirement of obtaining higherthan ever, never stationary fuel long enoughto settlement, as well as suspended solids and water arepassed to a person buying fuel - you.

Changes in the methods refinery is also a problem. In order to get more products, diesel fuel, now refined at a marginal part of the crude barrel. This leads to lower gradeproduct that thicker, and contains a lot more dirt. As time continues to pass and technology betterand gets better, you can only hope that ofdiesel fuel quality improves. As it stands now, qualityisn't good at all. If you run diesel, all you can hope for basically is that the fuel you do not get contaminated.
